@Saganismm Well said. I remember that a French writer once said that we are taught fake history at school and we learn the true history outside of the educational system.
This is what the beginning of screen addiction looks like in a young child
There is zero reason for young kids to get any regular screen time. Its all harm & no benefit.
Put phones away, spend time WITH kids, and they wont even know what screen time is.
“The more you understand this world, the more you destroy yourself. That's why fools are happy, and intelligent people live in loneliness.”
- Fyodor Dostoevsky
“America's abundance was created not by public sacrifices to the common good, but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes.”
— Ayn Rand
“People speak sometimes about the 'bestial' cruelty of man, but that is terribly unjust and offensive to beasts, no animal could ever be so cruel as a man, so artfully, so picturesquely cruel.”
— Fyodor Dostoevsky
So grateful I grew up before screens.
Hours outdoor daily being physically active, interacting with friends, and using our imaginations to play.
Not surprising kids were much happier and healthier back then.
Its why I work to give my kids a mostly screen-free childhood.
Physical activity daily.
Outdoor whenever possible.
Time with friends & loved ones >> Screen time.
These build a foundation for mentally healthy & physically fit kids.
@thriving__kids I agree. Kids have to learn first hand most of the times that life has its ups and downs, that they have to take risks at times, think before they act and other valuable life lessons that can't be taught at schools nor by us.
Overprotecting kids raising mentally weak kids
Kids need the freedom to try risky things like climbing trees or building bike jumps
This builds their confidence and helps them believe in their abilities
It also helps them learn to assess risks in life and make smart decisions
It may seem counterintuitive for parents, but the best strategy to protect kids is to let them take risks
Carl Jung - "Whenever we touch nature we get clean... People who have got dirty through too much civilization take a walk in the woods, or a bath in the sea."
