This is a really important tool to use in the classroom. In sdg3 it can assist students on how to set up and utilise an information report or hands on learning eg) for a community garden to grow fresh produce for the school! #UoNTeach #educ4750

Looking to integrate #criticalandcreativethinking as a #generalcapability? Check out this doc from @ACARAeduau (australiancurriculum.edu.au/media/1072/gen…)! It breaks down the skills that students can display - I'll be looking at Level 3 skills in my unit on #SDG15. #UoNTeach #educ4750

This book would be great in a wellbeing unit! It can be used in a PE unit where mental health is mentioned. It would also go along well with my tweet on having check in corners for students. #educ4750 #UoNTeach

How good is finding literature that connects straight to the classroom! This book by Jon Burgerman touches on the different adversities that people may go through and that you are not alone in feeling different emotions. What's your favourite wellbeing book? #educ4750 #UoNTeach

This is a great reference to come back to as a teacher. In sdg3 it will remind the teacher to always come back and focus on what aspects are important for a healthy lifestyle and to maintain a well balanced wellbeing level. #educ4750 #UoNTeach

Community gardens are a very important resource to have within a school as it promotes pedagogical learning for students. This matches my project overview as it connects to sdg3 and how it is important to teach kids about a healthier lifestyle and the process. #educ4750 #UoNTeach

Prevention Institute (2004) highlights the benefits of community gardens on both mental and physical health in rural communities. If there wasn't a community garden within your local area, would you attempt to start one? #educ4750 #UoNTeach #SDG3

@CodyEdstein Promoting discussions about the importance of our oceans with young people is so important. They need to be constantly engaged about the best way to protect our oceans.

@CodyEdstein Educating young people about the impacts they can have on the environment is extremely important, It is their future we are protecting so they should play a part in the process.

@CodyEdstein A great resource that shows a simplistic way for our ecosystem to be represented. Promoting the importance of climate change to students is essential for their future.

The Danjiang River Solar Cookers in China are an amazing resource that combat multiple areas of need. These cookers allow access to cooking equipment that the homeless may not have access to, whilst also fighting climate change! #SDG1 #SDG13 Check it out naturalcapitalpartners.com/projects/proje…

This is awesome! They have followed through and extended on their discussions on healthy eating! This is a great idea for schools to implement into their curriculum. Using compost and healthy eating habits directly related to #SDG3. #UoNTeach #educ4750
Auckley Reception@fsauckley1

Last week we read the story Oliver’s vegetables. After our discussion about healthy eating and vegetables we made vegetable soup together. The children helped prepare the food and really enjoyed tasting our soup. We took the trimmings to our schools compost bins.

Meditation is a great way to calm students' minds. I have found it effective to conduct a 'smiling minds' practice after lunchtime to prepare them for the afternoon. What ways do you use to calm your students after lunchtime full of play? #educ4750 #SDG3 #UoNTeach

Working with @jump4basketball, we should be organising a community day, where families all come to a neutral venue and are open to participating in physical activities that give them the opportunity to gain knowledge about physical health. #educ4750 #SDG3

The access Beyond Blue has to many Australian communities is vital in an attempt to challenge mental health issues in Australia. We need to educate ourselves to help others.
Beyond Blue@beyondblue

Access to the right support at the right time is critical for keeping well and supporting people in a time of crisis. It’s great to see the launch of 13YARN, a First Nations-specific service developed by our friends at @LifelineAust and @GayaaDhuwi (Proud Spirit) Australia.
