@happymissmiller Cooking classes are a great idea so then students can see the next steps in the process and understand where their healthy food comes from. Connecting with culture is also very important especially from a young age.

@KempTyla What a cute book. It is extremely import for students to have a sense of belonging and self worth this can be created within a classroom. As for standing up for themselves that's a harder concept for some students to grasp.

This is an inspiring book written by Nadiya Hussain and Illustrated by Ella Bailey! It goes through the motions of how students can stand up for themselves and maintain their mental health by having their own space and time alone. Would you read this book? #educ4750 #UoNTeach

@KempTyla Well-being check ins are so important to incorporate in your every day classroom routine! It’s a great way to gauge how to best support each student every day. Even creating strategies with the children on what they can do if they aren’t feeling so good.

This is a really important tool to use in the classroom. In sdg3 it can assist students on how to set up and utilise an information report or hands on learning eg) for a community garden to grow fresh produce for the school! #UoNTeach #educ4750
Ryan Hansen@MrHansen96

Looking to integrate #criticalandcreativethinking as a #generalcapability? Check out this doc from @ACARAeduau (australiancurriculum.edu.au/media/1072/gen…)! It breaks down the skills that students can display - I'll be looking at Level 3 skills in my unit on #SDG15. #UoNTeach #educ4750

Community gardens are a very important resource to have within a school as it promotes pedagogical learning for students. This matches my project overview as it connects to sdg3 and how it is important to teach kids about a healthier lifestyle and the process. #educ4750 #UoNTeach

Prevention Institute (2004) highlights the benefits of community gardens on both mental and physical health in rural communities. If there wasn't a community garden within your local area, would you attempt to start one? #educ4750 #UoNTeach #SDG3

How good is finding literature that connects straight to the classroom! This book by Jon Burgerman touches on the different adversities that people may go through and that you are not alone in feeling different emotions. What's your favourite wellbeing book? #educ4750 #UoNTeach
