Ironically, the actress who played Lucy in Dracula: Dead and Loving It was actually born in England. When I was younger, I genuinely thought it was a real horror movie until this scene gave away the comedy, even though many of Lucy’s vampire moments still work surprisingly well as actual horror.

Con el reparto anunciado de ‘The Odyssey’ de Nolan, de repente todo internet ha decidido que ‘Troya’ (2004) es la cima del cine histórico y una obra maestra absoluta. Es curiosa la memoria selectiva de las redes, porque durante veinte años gran parte del público se dedicó a criticar duramente la cinta de Brad Pitt por “modificar a Homero”, inventarse cosas o cambiar la mitología. Era un debate constante y casi siempre negativo. Pero ahora que llega el proyecto de Nolan, las tornas han cambiado por completo y la peli de 2004 se ha convertido en un clásico intocable. No me malinterpretéis: ‘Troya’ es, sin ironía ninguna, una de mis películas favoritas. Me sé los diálogos de memoria y el duelo de Aquiles y Héctor me parece historia del cine. Ver cómo cambia tan rápido la perspectiva de la gente es un fenómeno fascinante.

Again: 41 year old guy here. At the time Troy came out, Pitt’s casting and performance were considered a movie-ruining disaster.

Alexandra Daddario hubiera sido una increíble actriz para una película sobre Grecia. La Odisea merecía actores como ella, con rasgos que dejan huella y que son incomprensibles. Habría sido una increíble Atenea.

@LugarCinema No es una película redonda (al menos comparándola con otras de su mismo género) pero te deja escenas y actuaciones que te acompañarán para siempre. Y ves todo el esfuerzo q hicieron con escenarios y vestuario, y te das cuenta del gran trabajo q había en el cine años atrás

Se cumplen 22 años del estreno de Troya (2004) Ya no sé hacen películas así... Épica, aventura, acción, estrellas, música inolvidable y una puesta en escena gigantesca. ¿Qué os pareció?

@SitoCinema Tal como dices.Las críticas están apostando por su fracaso,pero ninguna película d este verano ha levantado tanta conversación como La Odisea, y eso podría notarse en la taquilla.Hay gente q seguro no la verá por esas decisiones creativas pero hay muchos curiosos hablando d ella

Más allá de las decisiones TERRIBLES de CAST de Nolan en #TheOdyssey, la gente no esta siendo justa en general. Creo que aún no somos conscientes de la magnitud de obra a la que nos enfrentamos. Entiendo la decepción y la cautela, como fue mi caso. Pero va a ser HISTÓRICO esto.

@BrioEnfurecida Ya la fascinación por la épica histórica/mitológica estaba empezando a bajar y llegó a su final con El Reino de los Cielos que salió un año después de Troya. Más bien Troya le dio un gran respiro a este cine tras el fracaso de Alexander de Oliver Stone

Os prometo que cuando salió Troya, la gente venía de Gladiator, El Señor de los Anillos, Braveheart…, y la pusieron a caer de un burro.
