@nenshi I’ve missed follow up visits after 3 months for my shoulder surgery because my surgeon left the province and no-one was able to take his patients. I don’t have a GP, so that wasn’t an option. A new stress fracture in my foot (I assume) is now being self-diagnosed and treated.

Stories of UCP mismanagement of health care are everywhere today. Hinton has declared a health crisis after nearly half of their doctors left. Hip and knee surgeries are cancelled because of staffing shortages at the Royal Alex. And there’s the story of Steven Wong and his family. The 41-year-old father of three was diagnosed with cancer on May 2 and still can’t find an oncologist two months later. These failures are the results of an incompetent government. @ceconrad @cityofcalgary Agreed. Sadly, clarity is often sacrificed at the altar of simplicity. The threat of a $3,000 fine is enough to warrant asking the question. Perhaps its time to update the chart to allow watering from rain barrels and eliminate "by any [...] watering method" from the verbiage.

On the evening of Wednesday, June 5 an extensive water main break occurred in Bowness. This is a significant break on a critical water main that moves water across the city. Stage 4 outdoor water restrictions are in effect. 1/7

@JyotiGondek Please explain to the wilting tomatoes and cucumber plants in my (already 40ºC) greenhouse why stage 4 restrictions do not allow them a hand-watered drink of non-potable rainwater from one of my many rainbarrels BUT the commercial greenhouses can water away... Profits over Food?

@cityofcalgary "by any method"? To clarify, it is NOT PERMISSIBLE for my to use my 4 rain barrels (55 gallons each that are full to the brim) to hand-water my greenhouse with a bucket and watering can? Clarify, please. It's already 40ºC in the greenhouse. The tomatoes desperately need a drink

@Flames_Fan1 @cityofcalgary Agreed. If we've collected and saved it...why can't we use it? Not going hog wild, but maybe saved rainwater for the greenhouse would be permissible? This "by any method" seems pretty out-of-touch. Reward those folks who put in a rain barrel. It only makes sense.

@CanRevAgency It goes both ways, though. Will the CRA take accountability for their gaffe and compensate Canadians who (under threat of major penalties) paid professional fees to accountants to file a bare trust on their behalf, only to have the requirement canceled at the 11th hour?

How many consumers don’t bother to check when they get home? How many unsuspecting Canadians are getting hit by both sides (prices and inaccurate weights and measures) who don’t have a way to verify for themselves whether the grocery store is gouging them?

We can’t have high potency opioids, distributed as a “safe supply” flooding over the border and into Alberta communities. This needs to stop now. The Government of Alberta asked the federal government to put chemical tracers in so-called safe supply drugs so their origin can be tracked in an autopsy. The Federal Liberals said no. @RockyViewCounty these trucks are always backed up here. Trailers without trucks just parked on the road. Truck drivers parked and sleeping. Despite no parking signs. No enforcement happens. Why do we pay county taxes if there’s no law enforcement? The road isn’t a parking lot.
