🔎 UPDATE #4 - MISSING CHILD - PARKER 🔍 🚨 The CPS has issued an Alberta Emergency Alert in the ongoing search for Parker, 11, who has been missing since Thursday, July 16, 2026. While this case does not meet Alberta's legislated criteria for an AMBER Alert, the Government of Alberta has granted an exemption allowing the CPS to utilize the Alberta Emergency Alert system due to the unique circumstances of this investigation. 💬 "We are grateful to the Government of Alberta for approving the use of the Alberta Emergency Alert system in this case. While this is not an AMBER Alert, this alert will help us reach Albertans quickly & generate additional awareness as we continue our efforts to locate Parker safely." — Staff Sgt. and Incident Commander Becky Spohr. 🚨 The emergency alert asks residents in Calgary, particularly in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, Highwood, Highland Park & Greenview, to be vigilant & check their properties for any sign of Parker. 👤 Parker was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts & black noise-cancelling headphones. He is described as 4'11" tall, weighing approx. 90 pounds, with a shaved head & brown eyes. He was last seen at his day home in the 0 to 100 block of Connaught Drive N.W. sometime between 11:08 & 11:41 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026. ‼️ Articles of clothing believed to belong to Parker were found around noon in the 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive N.W. Parker is neurodivergent and non-verbal & may become even more scared if confronted by strangers. If Parker is located, members of the public are asked not to approach him. Instead, keep him in sight & call 911 immediately. 📣 Anyone with information about his whereabouts, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of Parker, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234 or by submitting it here: cps.ca.evidence.com/axon/community… Information? ☎️ CPS: 403-266-1234 🛑 @stopcrimeyyc 📞 @MCSCanada: 1-800-661-6160 | mcsc.ca 📲 MCSC rescu: rescu.mcsc.ca ⚖ Case #: CA26318270 | 3916 🌐 newsroom.calgary.ca/update-4-polic…

🔎 UPDATE #3 - MISSING CHILD - PARKER🔍 We continue to ask for the public's help in locating Parker, 11, and are providing an update on the extensive search and investigative efforts underway to find him. ⭐ Today, we are releasing a new image of Parker captured on CCTV footage on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:52 p.m., taken at the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E. We are hopeful this image will assist the public in recognizing him and provide new information about his whereabouts. Since he was reported missing, the CPS has dedicated significant resources to locating Parker. Investigators, patrol officers and specialized units continue to work around the clock to examine every possible lead and search areas where Parker may have travelled. Since Parker was reported missing: ➡️ Approx. 30 tips have been received and assessed by investigators. ➡️ Officers have reviewed, or are currently reviewing, approx. 50 hours of CCTV, residential security camera and dashcam footage. ➡️ More than 200 CPS members have assisted in the search effort. ➡️ Officers have conducted door-to-door inquiries in all the surrounding communities and continue to canvass the area. Investigators continue to identify, collect and review additional video footage and other evidence related to Parker's movements. Search efforts continue in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, Greenview Industrial Park, Nose Hill Park and surrounding areas. Today, approx. 100 to 120 trained search volunteers coordinated through Search and Rescue Alberta are assisting with search operations in northwest Calgary. Members of the public may continue to see a significant police and search presence in these communities, including our Air Support Unit, Mounted Patrol Team, Mountain Bike Unit, Canine Unit, patrol officers, investigators and trained search volunteers. We remain grateful for the tremendous community support we have received and encourage residents to continue assisting in safe and meaningful ways. ℹ️ There is nothing to indicate foul play is involved. Although this case does not meet the Government of Alberta’s legislated threshold for an AMBER Alert, we are working with our partners at the Missing Children's Society of Canada to issue an alert in hopes of locating Parker. 📣 Anyone with information about his whereabouts, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of Parker, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234 or by submitting it here: cps.ca.evidence.com/axon/community… Information? ☎️ CPS: 403-266-1234 🛑 @stopcrimeyyc 📞 @MCSCanada: 1-800-661-6160 | mcsc.ca 📲 MCSC rescu: rescu.mcsc.ca ⚖ Case #: CA26318270 | 3916 🌐 newsroom.calgary.ca/update-3-missi…

Oh look, it's me meeting with an important diplomatic stakeholder who held a business tech conference in our province -- what any good elected official would do. Thank you @MoedIddo for coming to Calgary, it's always great to see members of the diplomatic core in Alberta.

@nenshi This statement will help strengthen Canada's pluralism because it clearly acknowledges the disproportionate amount of hate Jews are experiencing, and the crimes committed by the Iranian regime and their proxies against Isreal. It certainly doesn't tacitly normalize Jew hate.

@Ben_oharabyrne A decade has passed since Harper was in power. Maybe, jusssst maybe, this has something to do with the people who have been in power for over a decade? Do better, bud. How can people trust the media when reporters can't even be bothered to pretend to hide their bias?

@Fromehtozed How so? Would you have left the bridge closed? At least it’s opening, Harper understood we needed the new bridge but it also left us vulnerable to a shakedown given we were assuming all the risks.

Reminder of how we got here on the Howe Bridge. Opposition from special interests in Michigan meant Harper agreed in 2012 to fund the project or it wouldnt get built. Always relied on US honouring the deal, Trump didn’t, he had leverage, here we are. windsorstar.com/news/local-new…

@Sean_Speer Rogers took subsidies meant to support local journalism and then laid off Calgary based journalists during the middle of a unity crisis while simultaneously hosting a swank Stampede party. Of course Conservatives will push back. The Hub:

This is such a good example of the challenging politics of loss aversion. The political attention paid to Rogers’ layoffs, including from Conservative MPs, has been totally disproportionate. The job losses are of course regrettable for those involved. But the idea that maintaining radio stations that nobody listens to is somehow in the public interest is unpersuasive to say the least. It speaks to why it’s hard to shut down Via Rail routes or defund the CBC or rationalize other organizations or services that Canadians don’t actually use but have an irrational attachment to.
World Hockey Report@worldhockeyrpt

According to Rogers: “From October to May of this past year, Rogers said its Calgary sports radio station had an average of just 1,200 listeners. The Vancouver sports station had an average audience of 2,100 listeners during that same period.”

In many ways, in the last few decades Conservative Party has been upstream of the broader conservative movement in Canada. It should be downstream. A recent quiet renaissance of policy salons and public thought leadership is changing that, and it's a good thing.

@MichelleRempel You'll have to do a lot more persuasion then. I think the public is very skeptical of these projects

The Conservative Party's position on AI and data centres is not clear. We even have caucus members offering different perspectives to eachother's public comments. I think this will be a VERY big challenge for Poilievre. How does he square his ideological views with the growing public anxiety and desire for gov't intervention. I think this will be a huge openning for @avilewis

@LeslynLewis It's a great investment in Alberta, and is squarely in their jurisdiction. We have some of the best minds on grid management and capacity in the country. I'm sure any of our colleagues in the provincial government will be happy to sit down with you and walk through the project.
