This photo was taken at the American aid point… We lay flat on the ground, waiting to reach some food to carry back to our children. I can never forget those scenes. I used to go there to bring food for my children, to what we called the “point of death.” We lay on the ground under the sound of gunfire so we wouldn’t be hit. We saw soldiers shooting while we clung to the earth, just trying to stay alive.
