@____ecc I think the overuse of the word “passionate” is to blame. People say they’re passionate about anything and everything when, in reality, they just like it a lot or care about it a lot. Kind of like how “awesome” doesn’t mean what it’s supposed to mean anymore.

man is it bothersome when someone says you're "passionate" about issues of justice. A passion strikes me as a hobby. Working in solidarity with folks' right to live isn't a fuckin hobby. That word definitely seems a downplay of the issues plaguing America right now.

@angryasian The Percy Jackson series gets more & more inclusive as it goes on, especially the follow up series. Magnus Chase is also wonderfully inclusive. Both feature a very diverse cast of characters. It’s been a while since I read Magnus Chase so I’m not sure how challenging it would be.
