THIS!!!! A golf course is for golf!!! Do the rest when the round is over. Also, it should be automatic that you’re banned from a course if you all stop to a 5 minute handshake ritual on the 18th green when people are waiting to hit in. A golf course is not a bar!!!

I literally felt brain cells dying reading that nonsensical, covid bro, simpleton take. People need to remember, it's a competition, first and foremost. As much as I love music, cigars, and drinking, I'm not doing it on the course. That's for after. Too many people treat going golfing solely as social lubricant with their friends. I want to go out there and outdo what I have done before. And speed is part of that. I want to become more efficient

@NUCLRGOLF The issue is: what do you do if falling behind? Don't search for your partners ball? Don't search for your own ball which is probably findable but way to the right of your provisional? I never see guidelines for what to do, it's just "hurry up, be at this point for this time"

@NUCLRGOLF I agree that golf should take 4-4.5hrs… Hard to enforce pace of play because the interconnectivity of pairings, ie, extra time it takes on rulings and finding balls from wayward tee shots on one group affects other groups.

Pace of play isnt a strict timeline. Courses set a maximum time to play, and the contract is to keep up to the group in front of you. So if a foursome in front of you is playing in 3.5 hours, what cant your group do it? Most of the ti.e its because of a lack of etiquette. Sitting in a cart waiting for one guy to hit then driving to the next ball. Waiting on greens when you are ready etc. I play at good level and my group can easily play in less time regardless of skill level.

@NUCLRGOLF Fair point. They should save the earliest tee times for the fast players. Maybe the first hour of tee times are expected to play at a 3:30 pace and the next hour 3:50 and thereafter 4:10-4:20

@NUCLRGOLF Die on this sword! It’s golfers like this that Ruin the game for the rest of us and have no idea about etiquette when it comes to golf. Also MOST were never taught about the pace of play which makes them think they know EVERYTHING pertaining to pace of play!

@NUCLRGOLF Most of those "fast" players only play with above average players. They don't have to look for as many wayward shots or wait while the players score over 100. Wonder how they would feel if all those "slow" players quit because of harrassment?

The absolute absurdity of this is beyond me. I know exactly who the seller is, and I know exactly who the forger is. I’ll be exposing this forger publicly very soon. And by the way — a signed Christy Mathewson index card? Literally impossible. I’ve never seen or even heard of one existing. People were rarely, if ever, writing to players during that era, and Mathewson passed away in 1925. This is honestly one of the most absurd and poorly executed fakes I’ve ever seen. ebay.us/m/ATaTMW
