Ok, BC tweeps: Who's had an invite for their bivalent booster and how long did it take? The province says invites are going out at the 6 mo mark I just got mine and it was 9 mos to the day since my first booster, but a senior I know got an invite 2 mos after their last booster!

@JoannaCannon I’ve really been hooked on all of Ronald H. Balson’s novels. His ones based on the holocaust are brilliant and really drew me in: Once We Were Brothers, Karolina’s Twins, The Girl from Berlin, Defending Britta Stein. Different settings and perspectives in each, all excellent.

Hello. Does anyone have a recommendation for either a memoir of a Holocaust survivor, or a novel based on or around this topic? Many thanks. (I have read John Boyne's wonderful novel already)

@VancouverPD @keithbaldrey In this deep dive, I’m curious if there are any statistics on how many of the victims were people of colour. What percentage of the crimes might have been racially motivated?

Over the last few months, we've noticed what appears to be an uptick in unprovoked stranger attacks, so we asked our strategic researchers to take a deep dive into the numbers. What they found is concerning: over four people a day are the target of a random, unprovoked assault.

@SigneSJohansen The enchanting series of Inspector Gamache books by Louise Penny. You can read each as a stand-alone, or start at the beginning of the series with Still Life. You will fall in love with the homicide detective and his family and friends, along with the village of Three Pines.

@heyadamroberts Use some to make meyer lemon curd & freeze it. No jars needed. The curd can be used for 101+ desserts including straight up on buttered toast. 16 yolks, 200g sugar, 250g lemon juice, 180g butter. Rub zest into the sugar before cooking.

Someone gifted me 30 Meyer lemons from their tree (!) and I’m overwhelmed. Do I make marmalade? Curd? Limoncello? I feel so much pressure and I don’t have empty jars.

@benwilson1130 Go to a park with lots of trees (shade) and spend the evening there with a picnic. Take a blanket and enjoy the shade. Lots of local parks like this- the ones near a River have even more breeze to cool you off.

With the #HeatWave coming, it seems everyone and their dog have bought up all the portable air conditioners. I checked the #CanadianTire, #HomeDepot and #Walmart websites and they’re all sold out. So, what are your tips on beating the heat? Overnight lows of 20c-ish on the way.

I’ve lived down the street from a Japanese store for almost a decade and I went into it for the first time today. Excited for the mochi butter cake in my future.

@heyadamroberts Classic biscotti- I agree with you. I never liked any biscotti until I tried Dorie Greenspan’s Lenox Almond Biscotti. It’s a crunchy butter cookie with cornmeal for texture disguised in the shape of biscotti. With lemon zest rubbed into the sugar they’re addictive.
