A Lower East Side school went into lockdown Tuesday as police and NYPD School Safety agents arrested a 16-year-old boy found carrying a loaded firearm inside the school. Administrators at Cascades High School on Forsyth St. near Stanton St. received an anonymous tip that the teen had a gun in his possession around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, cops said. As the school went into lockdown, cops and school safety agents found the teen and confronted him. The officers scuffled with the boy and wrestled him to the ground before taking him into custody, a source with knowledge of the case said. A firearm was found in the youth’s waistband. He was taken into custody. No injuries were reported and criminal charges weren’t immediately filed.
