When I say Republicans want to eliminate trans people from public life, this is exactly what I mean. How can you participate in civil society if you cannot use the bathroom? If I started using the men’s, I would be raped or assaulted within a week. I am your fellow citizen and my life matters too. I am 10/10 against self-ID and want old-school medical safeguarding brought back. The public deserves the trust that trans women in the ladies are properly diagnosed and on a medical pathway. It protects us as much as biological women. The problem is both sides of this issue have chosen extreme positions we are creating a situation where trans people will only be able to live in blue states.

The last 10 years of my career. For whatever reason, the overwhelming majority of Progressives are unable to work with people with minor differences. So it all devolves into high school level drama. The focus isn’t policy. It’s ferreting out nonbelievers.

Y’all can yell at me all day long for not liking “uterus haver,” “pregnant person,” or “birthing person.” I think it’s degrading and misogynistic to refer to women by bodily functions. I love trans people and I believe 10/10 in our rights, but this is political malpractice. I want nothing to do with this and any sane trans woman that actually values her women friends should feel the same.

It’s because it will be impossible for us to get care if large numbers of c*s people are damaged because they were not properly diagnosed. They will happily make us meat for the machine to protect themselves. If you think the number of detransitioners today is a political problem, buckle up. It does not serve us in the long run to build a system where c*s people get the treatment we need to live.

Preface: I am extremely anti-Russia, pro-Ukraine and I’ve aggressively debated both Lauren Chen and Tim Pool over our Russia policy. You can find hundreds of tweets of me talking about the dangers of information warfare. That said, given my professional experience, which has involved working to organize streamers for Democratic causes, it seems extremely likely to me that she just didn’t know who was funding Tenet. She’s getting paid to do a job. That’s it. Does anyone really dig that deeply into their employer’s finances? I also very strongly believe it would be impossible to pay Lauren to have an opinion. She enjoys shooting her mouth off too much, and utterly despises any kind of power, especially governmental power. If someone brings a lawsuit against her and presents evidence, I will change my mind. But I don’t see evidence of that and I don’t think it’s in her character, from what I’ve seen. I don’t agree with a lot of Lauren’s opinions. But I do feel she arrives at her conclusions honestly and in good faith. Which is why it sad that they are wrong. 💕

This is why the trans civil rights movement is experiencing such a rapid backslide and a loss of public support. 10 years ago, integration into society was the primary goal. Today, coexistence and compromise are failure states - not strategies. Most normal people are willing to give trans people a fair shake in society. But you have to meet them halfway.
