@User050477 @GG_Trev The team gave him a NMC, that clause has real value. Now it’s inconvenient so this trade chatter comes out and ask him to waive it for nothing. From a player/NHLPA standpoint, that’s exactly why those clauses exist

@CarterHutton4 Carter, NTC, and NMC are handed out like candy now. It's ridiculous. Morgan Rielly has 4 yrs left and unfortunately needs a change of scenery. Is he ok just collecting a paycheck for the next 4 yrs? The Cap and these clauses make it to hard to make a hockey trade. Lousy for fans

@jtbourne My first thought was the player/agent/NHLPA angle. If trades involving NMCs are getting leaked to stir up a fanbase before approval, that’s an interesting pressure tactic. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s revisited in CBA talks

@kavanyoung It stings when a team tells you they don’t see you in their future. Then another fan base boos you forever for not coming. The way this stuff gets dragged out publicly from a player’s standpoint is tough but it’s big money decisions anything goes

@CarterHutton4 Honest question, Carter: regardless of how much you try to ignore it, how much does that pressure factor into a decision? Have there been guys who have rushed a decision and then almost immediately regretted it?
