I'd also like to give a hats off to @CaryGroveVB. They turned a corner this season and scared the daylights out of everyone they played this postseason. They were a real fun wildcard to watch in the Class 4A field. It would've been fun to see the Trojans get that one game.

I've seen teams have better or more dominant matches. But Cary-Grove's precision and finesse and calm was like a work of art completely under control tonight. Typing my story now.

Despite the loss tonight, I still think Crystal Lake Central is a legit state contender in 3A this postseason. The Trojans just played with a 1980 Olympic hockey team kind of flawlessness tonight that told the world, "Hey, we've arrived," and I suspect it caught CLC off-guard.
