Ngl bit disappointed seeing some Chelsea fans against Alonso. I get the fact he’s Liverpool but forget the best part of his career was at Madrid and NO it’s nothing like Benitez if you remember correctly. I think we need a manager who has been there done it as a player so nobody can chat to him. He will be the best person on that training pitch let’s be honest. There’s nobody there that can chat to him. You mention Madrid… but we are nowhere near being a Real Madrid, we don’t have a player of that calibre or ego’s like a Vini, Mbappe, Jude. We don’t have fan pressure or board pressure like theirs and still had a 71% win rate. His Leverkusen tenure seems to be brushed under a carpet because of it. We’ve so far had these appointments: Potter/Lamps/Poch/Maresca/Rosenior Alonso’s unbeaten season at Leverkusen trumps anything these have done.
