@straczynski As soon as I saw the news yesterday I felt sympathy for how many alerts would be headed your way. As a long-standing (and British) fan of the show, I think you'd be an amazing show runner for it.

-- to an American showrunner, even one who is legally a resident of the UK under a visa that allows me to work for in TV/film in the UK? I think so but I doubt they'd just take my word for it, nor should they. The fan community would have to have their (polite, constructive) say.

A (relatively) quick note to respond to the (much appreciated) scores of (very nice) notes online regarding today's news about Doctor Who. My interest and record is well-established; the only real question I think the BBC would (very fairly) ask is: would British fans be open --

@SandyofCthulhu My maths teacher informed us that the probability of rolling any number between 1 and 6 on a 6-sided dice was 1 in 6 and the probability of rolling any number between 1 and 12 when rolling 2 6-sided dice was 1 in 12. Cue my entire TTRPG group raising their hands to correct him.

This makes me really sad. How do these people get into education? I remember as a 6 year old arguing that daddy-long-legs (A) weren't spiders and (B) weren't venomous. (I was a nerdy kid.) The teacher shot me down and I was so deeply offended. But that was way more egregious than what we see below.

@straczynski Having never read any of his work, I got started 'Greatest Hits' this week, having purchased it back when you announced it's release. Wow. It's electric. It feels like I've been enjoying watered down versions of his work without knowing the original source. Amazing stories.

-- so next month Blackstone will celebrate by releasing special hardcover collector's editions of all three books, with thicker pages, sprayed edges and other premium touches. The Dangerous Visions stories and Harlan's voice still continue to resonate.

Some good Harlan Ellison news...when we first announced that Blackstone would be republishing the first two Dangerous Visions books, and debuting The Last Dangerous Visions, some doubted readers would be interested. But the sales figures and the reception have proven otherwise --

@enworldrpg Interesting article and good to have some idea how publishers and customers might be impacted. One spelling error I noticed "Eat the tariff themselves. That might be possible in come instances".

@CaseyComedian @JazRignall The European version sold under the Schneider brand had a grey / black colour scheme so maybe it was one of those.

40 years ago, Amstrad gave its still-new CPCs a boost with a 12-pack of free Amsoft titles. Although they were pretty crummy, and one of was a word processor. Not exactly exciting stuff, but it helped Amstrad to carve out a solid 3rd place for itself in the UK games market.

@JonMarkHicks I did the same thing years ago with a Star Wars adventure. Rebels infiltrate a Grand Moffs grand ball disguised as a band of musicians. I called it Sith, Darth and Rock & Roll. Never did another thing with it. Didn't want to ruin the title!

@redshirtcinema Definitely will! Having reached the end of your look at the classic Trek films, I want to go back and reevaluate them myself too. Looking forward to what's after Trek for you guys.

@redshirtcinema Am really enjoying this series. A great listen for sci-fi fans regardless of how they feel about Star Trek. Well done all.

Remember, even if you didn't get the exam results you wanted, you can focus and work really hard towards your life goals and still amount to nothing. It sucks.

@MrMichaelSpicer There are a number of shows that would benefit greatly from the cast dying before filming had started.

I love this book. It's called Break A Leg. I'm not into am dram and you really don't need to be. It's an essay about and love letter to an art form that is wrongly mocked, widely under-appreciated and teeming with wonderful characters devoted to their passion projects.
jennylandreth@jennylandreth

I wrote about my dad in my am dram book. (It’s how he and my mum met.) This is one of my favourite photos, play unknown. ‘Man points at tin on unfeasibly high shelf’.

On this day in 2007 Sydney played host to the premier of "Transformers". Directed by Michael Bay the film stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. Despite lacking any real substance, and appealing mostly to teenage boys, Megan Fox has appeared in several films.

@SSkorkowsky That one-two punch when films and albums you remember buying suddenly get re-released and you realise it's to celebrate their 20/30/40 year anniversary, and then remember that you had it on VHS or cassette. Man, that feeling hurts. Just like my back.

Scrolled past an ad for a mobile game that said, "People over 45 can't stop playing this." I was all, "Why would I give a shit what game old people like?" Then I realized I'm over 45. Anyway, fuck that stupid fucking mobile game for making me feel old. It can rot in hell.

Take it from someone who has appeared in a few TV debates: if you can only talk about the past, like Keir Starmer did tonight, it’s because you don’t have any plan for the future. @RishiSunak does.

@SSkorkowsky Glad you approve. Love your work and am pleased to play homage to you and the Gang. By the way, one of the characters is a detective but I figured going full Jack was going a bit too far!

@SSkorkowsky Am currently in a show where I have to play 5 different characters that may all be the same person. I thought you might get a kick out of my costume choice for one of them.
