@dunniebrasco77 @thefull40 Agreed. Didn’t get enough stops to see transition opportunities. Didn’t play off two feet in the paint, Perkins didn’t see enough mid post-ups, guards were too content to settle. Fundamentals were absent tonight.

@CaseyPick @thefull40 And no adjustments on offense either...just playing tentative i to the drop coverage all night, looked uncomfortable

Not as a metric, but this is part of what got me into testing analytics. I've told the story before about watching HS Von Miller, and the fact that he could bend in ways that didn't make any sense was a big motivation for me to study this more.

Early in my career as an evaluator, I had this legendary lacrosse coach convince me to examine shin angles if I really wanted to know how athletic a guy is. He argued that change of direction, balance, and body control would show up in guys who could get to 30 degrees... I was skeptical at first but couldn't agree more after it continues to show up. Anybody else ever heard of this metric?

@birenball Paul Molitor is one of the purest ball players to ever live. Ern is doing Yeoman’s work in keeping pace, what a campaign he’s continuing to put together.

@andrewchelton @CookedByJaguar This is exactly right. Great work keeping his hands back after expecting velo, impressive piece of hitting. Everyone focused on some collapsing of the front side due to being out in front.

@CookedByJaguar Looks like he was out in front due to it being offspeed and still hit it out. What’s the problem?

@markshnabel @RaptorsShaq The East will seemingly be hobbled in 25-26, go get yourself somebody who can do it today. Let the chips fall as they may and then maybe recalibrate. The alternative is to gut this whole core and try to be the new OKC.

@markshnabel @RaptorsShaq I think this is tough to postulate not knowing how the Ingram addition changes our outlook. He could be the 2way piece that makes this a very competitive group. I think the Raps have more Qs than As currently, but White is a definitive answer to “can he contribute to winning?”

Surprised at how many are turning their noses up at White, perhaps we’ve forgotten what a winning player looks like 🤔

@ARayfor3 Doesn’t include any of the intangibles, hustle, hockey assists, and being a huge transition initiator. There’s plenty more too.

My grandpa is 80 years old and is in the beginning stages of alzheimers. Crazy to see how the disease works but one things for sure, it will never take away his love for basketball. This man scored 42 points against Alabama in 1967. Most in Vanderbilt single game at the time🤍
