@heatherboycee I'd like to see the driving range repurposed, a reinvestment in the medicinal herb garden, more ethical sourcing for furniture in campus buildings, and a greater investment in relationships with tribes across the PNW. 👍 What about you Heather?

@Jessica__Goulet Go for it Jessica! My capstone internship asked for experience I didn't have a shred of- if you come in with a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn, you can develop your skills through the internship, and be confident in that skill once you're applying for full time jobs!

I have an interview with an organization that wants GIS experience. While I have a quarter + of GIS experience, I still feel very shaky in those skills. Did anyone else apply for an internship that asked for specific skills but you're not entirely confident in them? 😬 #ENVIR490

@ZoeLew10 This is one of those objectives that's worth taking lots of time on. A good faculty advisor can be a huge help in designing your research! If you don't know where to start, ask some of the professors you do know if they can introduce you to others you don't!

@heatlovesnature Honestly once or twice, yeah! It's important to choose your internship really carefully- send interview requests on the first day you can and choose something in line with your passion. It makes the rest of the project much easier!

Finally, never forget what drove you to become an environmental studies major in the beginning. We've all got a million reasons - yours will inspire and drive you straight past the finish line. Forge new friendships, learn a lot, make a difference, and enjoy the journey! #POECap

Take every opportunity you can to learn something new, and cherish your cohort while you have them! I'm sad to say goodbye to my cohort, but I've learned so much from them over the years. Look out for one another, support each other whenever you can, and stay in touch!
