@NickyFrank30 Also for bizarre reasons a lot of Dem voters wanted to downplay it to wage Dem infighting. Within weeks of 1/6 a centrist Dem from another website scolded me about how I was in no position to criticize Republicans for 1/6 because CHAZ.

Here’s the thing about 1/6. Most Americans were horrified by it But then as 2021 dragged on, and we entered our social circles after the pandemic, many began to realize that people they cared about, loved, even needed agreed with it or defended it or rationalized it and as horrified as they were, they came to believe that it had enough support to tear their social groups apart and so people just wanted to put it behind them and forget it happened and that’s what they did.

@UnhitchingHour @DrewSav Florida's constitutional amendment doesn't require independent commissions though. However Iowa is reason to believe you're right, their comission used to produce fair maps until Republicans finally had a trifecta after the 2020 census.

New — The Senate has just voted against advancing an Iran War Powers Resolution for the seventh time, 49-50. This time though, a Democrat was the *deciding vote.* Rand Paul, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski voted to advance it. John Fetterman voted against it.
