Interesting editorial from WSJ today praising Susana Mendoza and her recognition of how dire the financial situation is for Chicago pensions. Here’s something I didn’t know until now: Detroit declared bankruptcy with their pensions funded between 60-80%. What is Chicago’s funding ratio? 28.1%

there are several plurality neighborhoods but somehow not one single majority. we have to do better

@lacherbauer yeah agree. i think there’s some low hanging fruit to pick up by improving blue line service and reliability & by building a lot of green line infill TOD, but after that there’s not even really clear areas to improve without, say, building a western line

@questionableway We need actual rapid transit expansion(new lines), which is not happening and it’s not even really on the horizon, if we’re honest. Long-term CTA ridership has been in a declining trend.
