What sparked this came after freshman Blake Beheler hit his first career home run then celebrated. In his next at-bat, three pitches went over his head.
Head Coach Steven Trout confronted UTSA Head Coach Pat Hallmark about the incident before things blew over.

Postgame timeline per Pat Hallmark: - Texas State staff approaches UTSA staff about James Hubbard throwing at Bobcat players. - Hallmark says, "I don't know if he was, but we know you guys bat-flipped." - Texas State assistant coach puts his hands on Hallmark. He wanted me to add this quote: "I don't even know who he is. You can print that. He put his hands on me. I'm gonna defend myself. Print it all." - Near the end of the press conference, another reporter came up and said that Texas State claimed Hallmark admitted to purposefully throwing at Bobcat batters, a claim Hallmark denied.

Same program that willingly put a hurt player back in a 3-2 count at bat, got even more injured the next pitch and hasn’t played since.

Spoke with two sources close to this situation. Both corroborated. A shoving match ensued following the Sunday loss to South Alabama where Park was the final out. He emotionally threw his bat in frustration and it rubbed several people the wrong way. A shouting match and shoving match ensued between Park and another player. Temperatures got hot.
This week, Park had a meeting with the coaches. His commitment to returning in 2027 was brought up. Neither party told the other side what they wanted to hear. Park reportedly was not officially kicked off the team, but he does not plan to return to the program.
The transfer portal opens in a few weeks where he’ll likely be a target for SEC programs seeking their next shortstop. Park is a potential Day 1 pick in 2027.
