To prevent optioning a second position player today, the Reds have technically appointed TJ Friedl as the 27th man today as he comes back from the paternity list. They get a 27th man because it’s a neutral site game. Lyon Richardson heads to Triple-A as Littell joins the team and Martinez goes to the bullpen. With Joe now in Triple-A, Espinal is the backup first baseman.
