The family of a young Melbourne tradie killed in a hit-run are getting a second chance. The underage, unlicenced driver who killed their son walked free on a supervision order, but now he's back in court, and prosecutors argue he should be jailed. @amberjohnston_9 #9News

Remember the vision from Ripponlea on Saturday? One of the girls inside that car has been linked to the police chase overnight, as well as an alleged attack on a cyclist last night. Police have charged a 13-year-old girl with 52 offences following a series of incidents in Melbourne’s southeast, including alleged antisemitic behaviour and dangerous driving.
Police say a stolen black Hyundai sedan was seen driving erratically through Hampton, Ripponlea and Caulfield from March 25, with occupants allegedly shouting offensive remarks and throwing eggs at pedestrians.
On March 28, the car allegedly swerved toward members of the Jewish community crossing at Hotham Street and Glen Eira Road in Ripponlea, narrowly missing several families.
Investigators also allege the girl was involved in further incidents, including a hit-run in Brighton last night that left a 45-year-old cyclist with non-life-threatening injuries.
Overnight, three girls were arrested after a stolen Volkswagen Golf was tracked across multiple suburbs before being stopped by police in East Malvern.
The 13-year-old has been remanded to appear in a children’s court, while two other girls have been bailed, as investigations continue.

Given that he’s now unable to stand trial and as such can’t be proven guilty, Dezi Freeman will have to be remembered as an innocent man.
