My dear friends and colleagues. 16 girls in Utimishi Academy were fatally set ablaze by their fellow students!! Bad adults are not an accident. They are a project. A project that started at age 5 when a child talked back to an adult and the parent laughed and said, "Huyu mtoto ni tough kama mimi" A project that continued at age 10 when the child threw a tantrum in public and nobody said a word. A project that matured at age 15 when the teenager disrespected a teacher and the parent showed up at school to defend the child. A project that graduated at age 25 when a fully grown adult cannot keep a job because they cannot take correction from anyone. Nobody wakes up at 30 and suddenly becomes rude, entitled, dishonest, and impossible to deal with. That software was installed early. By parents who were allergic to the word "no." "Mtoto wangu asiumizwe." "Usimshoutie." "Let the child express themselves." Express themselves into what, exactly? A menace? Because that is what happened. You let your child talk back to elders and called it confidence. You let them break rules and called it creativity. You let them disrespect boundaries and called it independence. Now they are 28. They cannot hold a relationship because they have never been told they are wrong. They cannot keep a job because they argue with every supervisor. They cannot take feedback without crying victim. And you are wondering what happened. You happened. You skipped the most important part of parenting. Discipline. Not beating. Discipline. Teaching a child that actions have consequences. That "no" is a complete sentence. That apologizing is not weakness. That respecting people is not optional. These are lessons that must be taught early. Because the world will not teach them gently. Schools do not raise children. The internet does not raise children. TikTok does not raise children. Church does not raise children. Parents do. And if you refuse to correct your child, society will do it for you. Society has no patience. No mercy. No second chances. Prisons are full of people who were never told "sit down" at age 7. Broken homes are full of adults who were never taught emotional regulation at age 12. Unemployment lines are full of people who were never told "do it again properly" at age 15. You had the chance to shape them. You chose comfort over correction. And now the world is dealing with the result. Raise children with manners. With respect. With accountability. With the understanding that the world owes them nothing and character determines everything. Otherwise, you are not raising a child. You are manufacturing a future problem. And society will send you the bill.

@DonaldBKipkorir So if you're driving beyond the speed limit and it's captured, you also need to go to court and prove that? Incurring legal expenses and wastage of time! An appeal process can be put in place for justified reasons. Lawyers are looking out for their pockets!

NTSA CAMERAS INSTANT FINES ARE ILLEGAL Our judicial system especially the criminal system is underpinned in due process. Before one is fined, one has to be proven guilty. Traffic laws are criminal in nature. To be found guilty in a criminal process, two elements must be proved: That one had a criminal intent (mens rea) & that one committed the criminal act (actus reus). To issue an instant fine to a car owner is wrong on many levels. It presupposes the following: 1. That the driver at the material time is also the owner of the car which is not generally true. 2. That the driver knowingly broke the law which again isn’t true all the time. It could be a medical issue. If the driver isn’t the owner, then to fine the owner is completely unconstitutional as there is no transferred malice in traffic laws. If the driver who violates traffic law isn’t the owner, then his crime can’t be transferred to the owner. NTSA Camera instant fines is a noble idea but without constitutional & legal foundation. It is executive irrational exuberance.

🚨 The English FA are considering how England players should approach the traditional pre-match handshakes with Thomas ahead of their World Cup game against Ghana. Partey is currently awaiting trial in the UK on multiple charges, all of which he denies. Ghana boss Carlos Queiroz has defended the midfielder’s selection, insisting he is entitled to the presumption of innocence. 🇬🇭 (Source: @TimesSport)

Now I’ll conclude with this. I’m not as nice as Shakira and the other women you like trampling on this app. Two good years there’s nothing you haven’t said or done to me and I’m still here, tall as ever, ears fixed and doing well alhamdulillah. I’m not angry because I don’t expect misogynistic incels to have moral ground and direction. I wear the term activist and feminist like a badge of honor. If we’re fighting Ruto and his government for the same issues we’re addressing now, covering it up will lead us into this same rabbit hole we’re in and it starts with “Yeye sio mbaya watu wanamsurround ndio wabaya” you can make up all the lies and stories that you want but it’s already out here and facts can’t be changed so you’ll never cover it up . It’s best the good former CJ comes out to address this. Na Kama kawaida, mjidishi mahn

Utumishi girls cctv footage. I know most of you have seen the CCTV footage of the Utumishi girls allegedly planning to burn the dormitory. I understand why the footage is being used as evidence, and it is helpful in understanding what happened. That said, one thing that stood out to me is the presence of CCTV cameras inside the dormitories. Back in high school, dorms were considered private spaces. People changed clothes there, naked, walked around freely, and generally expected a level of privacy. My concern isn't to distract from the main issue, but rather to ask whether having cameras inside a girls' dormitory is appropriate. If that footage were ever to end up in the wrong hands, it could be a serious violation of the students' privacy. Cameras outside the dorm entrance or in common areas make sense for security purposes, but inside the dorm itself raises questions. Considering that schools have both male and female staff, and given past cases where some adults have taken advantage of young girls, I think it's reasonable to discuss the privacy implications as well. Again, this doesn't take away from the main issue, I just find the presence of cameras inside the dormitory concerning.

I just finished a meeting of grassroot mobilisers drawn across saboti constituency for bursary update. Saboti is an example where system work. I put up a bursary program team, trained them and left them on the ground. They carried out the exercise by themselves without supervision and delivered results. Well done team.. We now focus to the renaissance movement which is coming soon. Kenya needs a renaissance!

Blaming kids for burning down a school reminds me of my own childhood. Many times I would deliberately get into trouble, not because I was “bad,” but because it was the only language I had for pain I didn’t understand. It was a cry for help that nobody around me could read. Only much later, after speaking to a therapist, did I realise I had been struggling with mental health issues. So before we rush to label children as evil or irredeemable, we should ask deeper questions. What pain are they carrying? What pressures are they living under? Too many young people today are battling depression, trauma, anxiety, neglect, and emotional isolation in silence. Sometimes destructive behaviour is less about criminal intent and more like a flare shot into the night sky by a child who feels unseen.

@amenya_nelson So you deal with pain by killing your fellow students? There's no one else to blame, just those dumb few kids who committed the crime! Every kid deals with their own issues, not all decide to express it by killing their fellow students! You can't explain this away!
