*BIRMINGHAM, UK* — The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Tino Machakaire, has called on Zimbabweans abroad to channel their skills, ideas, and investments toward national development, saying “the future of our nation will be built by Zimbabweans united across the world.”
Minister Machakaire was speaking in Birmingham after attending the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) UK Gala Dinner, which brought together Zimbabweans from across the globe to celebrate excellence in business, innovation, leadership, and community development.
Describing the event as a showcase of “excellence, resilience, and the incredible impact of our diaspora,” Hon. Machakaire said he was honoured to join the celebrations. He challenged Zimbabweans abroad, particularly the youth, to remain connected to their roots while thriving globally.
“Continue succeeding globally, but never forget home,” he told attendees. “Zimbabwe needs your skills, ideas, experience, and investment.”
The Minister emphasized that empowering future generations and driving development depends on leveraging diaspora expertise and capital. “This is our time to build Zimbabwe. This is our time to empower future generations. And this is our time to invest back home,” he said.
