@Baloney_and @reddit_lies I have the opposite opinion, its only useful now for really niche things. You want to fix a vacuum from 2012, you'll find information. Want to find out information regarding your check engine light code? Reviews and information regarding baby strollers? you'll find it.

@reddit_lies If someone is actively using Reddit in 2026 for more than memes they need to talk to a professional doctor. That site is whacked

Reddit is officially removing bots that automatically ban users based solely on their participation in other subreddits. r/JusticeServed was famous for this, after the mods used u/SaferBot to ban over 70 thousand unique users because they had activity in r/Conservative.

failed vs successful competitive FPS games of past 5-10 years. (I probably missed some, and no i havent played all of these) failed: Highguard xDefiant HyperScape Bloodhunt Fragpunk Shatterline Gundam Evolution Super People Spellbreak Crucible Alara Prime Nine to Five Lemnis Gate Splitgate Concord Spectre Divide Rogue Company Dirty Bomb Farlight84 Paladins successful: Apex Legends Warzone Valorant Rainbow Six Siege Fortnite PUBG: Battlegrounds Overwatch Counter‑Strike The Finals Marvel Rivals Deadlock TF2 10 out of the 12 successful games had big established studios behind them. And only 5 of 19 of the failed ones had big studios behind them. Having a winning game for a smaller studio is clearly INCREDIBLY hard historically. *Credit to Embark for creating something fresh with The Finals and locking in a strong core audience. But I am curious, is the next big comp fps game going to actually break the mold or will it be more of the same?

@BarryDingleSak @Grummz For life service games you want it to look fresh even 5 years to 10 years from now. Cartoonish doesnt age as poorly.

@BarryDingleSak @Grummz Its intentional, i think it has to do potential longevity, cartoonish graphic dont age as poor, than attempting a photo realistic look. It also cuts the artists time for additional cosmetics.

Horizon Hunters Gathering is getting slammed for this character and for "yet another live service game". I'm gonna try it. Because I like the idea of teaming up with hunters and taking down monsters (aka Monster Hunter) PvE style.

STEAM IS BEING SUED FOR $900M BECAUSE OF "UNFAIR" PRICES 💀 The lawsuit claims Valve abused its Steam monopoly to impose "unfair" prices "STEAM" AND "UNFAIR PRICES" IN THE SAME SENTENCE

@DestinLegarie I think the art style and colour palette has been over used and is now considered very bland and uninspired. Probably a big turn off for alot of people. Which takes 3 second to make an opinion on.

I didn’t expect pushback for saying you only get a short window to hook players with Highguard. It’s been discussed across design, psychology, and media. If you genuinely love Highguard, leave an honest positive review. That already has had a real impact you saw today as it went to mixed. You don’t get “hours” to impress a player. You get minutes, often seconds. First impressions shape engagement. Of course reviews matter. A Steam reviewer will make a judgement in seconds. But humans judge quickly. It's ingrained in human psychology. gamedeveloper.com/design/history… gamedeveloper.com/business/remem… gamedeveloper.com/design/the-30-… spaceport.xyz/blog/how-to-ho… psychologicalscience.org/observer/how-m… veritasnewspaper.org/post/the-7-sec…

@CdnClassic @cheapydigital @BackersGamesF Wrong. Read the docs. They never said that it's just one other platform it's sold can't be so drastically low customers get a bad deal on steam Notice official key resellers usually are 30 percent cheaper but are fine? Yea they allow those but not say 60 and steam gets nada

@cheapydigital @BackersGamesF This rule basically ensures people will buy the games on steam, because you cannot find the game elsewhere for cheaper. And with steam being the largest digital retailer, its seen as monopolistic behavior.

@cheapydigital @BackersGamesF Steam mandates that the cheapest place a game can be sold is on Steam. This prevents competitors retailers from selling a game cheaper, and prevents dev's from doing a direct to consumer approach at a cheaper price attempting to avoid steams 30% cut.

@DLoesch @DanHollaway I actually disagree that's why he's saying this, the movies were largely considered failures by the fandom due to the writing. He cant admit the movies were bad, because then he'd never work in Hollywood again. So he needs this excuse to continue getting work.

When most people think of "eww NO AI in my game please" they are thinking mostly of the art. I don't think anyone cares if you used AI to write the code, or translate the game into different languages. Why is that?

@verbalriotshow If you think Disney won’t copyright claim some full length fan made AI movie, involving X-men, you’re insane. Even if it was the best AI in the world, and looked amazing, it still would never see the light of day.
