All cross-organization. One problem: How do agents from different companies trust each other? That’s the “trust gap” ERC-8004 was built to close. What is ERC-8004? Proposed August 2025 by MetaMask, Ethereum Foundation, Google & Coinbase. An official Ethereum standard that adds three lightweight on-chain registries on top of existing protocols (A2A + MCP): 1. Identity Registry (ERC-721 NFT) Your agent’s global “passport”. Unique, portable, transferable. Contains name, capabilities, supported endpoints, wallet addresses. Discoverable by any agent, anywhere. 2. Reputation Registry Portable, on-chain reputation. After every job, the client leaves a verified 0-100 score (pre-authorized, spam-proof). Base score on-chain, full details off-chain. Revocable + reply-enabled. Builds real collateral over time. 3. Verification Registry For high-stakes work: - zkML proofs - Crypto-economic re-execution with staked collateral - TEE attestations - Human/algorithmic arbitration All logged on-chain in one unified interface.
