"My view is that India will not catch up with China in the coming decades. But it will outgrow China. India can grow at 6-8% without doing too much while China is around 3%.China's population will drop sharply while India's population will rise," says journalist Ed Luce

@CecaLoather The Han right-wing is correct, this is the Chinese version of political correctness

This is dumb low IQ Han nationalist discourse. The Manchu did not "fear industrialization." They simply had no idea what "industrialization" was like most of the world. Not even continental Europeans understood it until mid-1800s. They did pursue it after Western invasion, but swift industrialization runs contrary to small agrarian economic order that predominated China. How do you conduct primitive accumulation from the top down? The biggest resistance to industrialization came from the lower strata of the society, not the Manchu ruling class, whose rule in fact collapsed when it tried to consolidate central power, moderne education/bureaucracy, and construct infrastructure with foreign capital assistance. The Late Qing modernization reforms alienated the small peasants, traditional literati intellectuals, and local governors because it tried to do aggressive modernization reforms without popular basis. The early 1900s Qing government was more like the Pahlavi liberal reformers who exacerbated social antagonism of the whole country than some archconservatives resisting modernization.

This is rare in diplomacy: 🇨🇳🇹🇭Thailand’s PM Anutin Charnvirakul personally drove Chinese FM Wang Yi in his BYD EV. Wang is now in Thailand for the meeting. The two countries today agreed to strengthen strategic alignment and enhance cooperation in various fields.

@dasyu_amsha What are the equivalents of Suryasiddhanta, Kamasutra, Gita, Upanishads, Yogasutra, Arthshastra, Abhinavabharati, Astadhyai from China/Muslmann? For those who are mathematically able, just check the timeline of mathematics on Wikipedia.

The Qing was an astoundingly successful Chinese dynasty. They expanded the borders and also had a long period of peace and stability in the high Qing era. If they had the right structural conditions (the same as Japan), they would have industrialized IMO.

Except for Chinese and Koreans, the world did not know much about Japanese in the past. People around the world — especially in Western countries — grew up watching Japanese anime, playing with Japanese toys, using Japanese electronics, and driving Japanese cars. In their impression, the Japanese are polite, constantly bowing, apologizing, or expressing admiration for the West. For a long time, people had a favorable impression of Japan. Then, seemingly overnight, they started reading what Japanese users were actually saying on X — and they realized that the Japanese are, in fact, a deeply dark, socially Darwinist, power-worshipping, perverse, evil, and racist people. And they find it utterly disgusting. I've said it before: Japan has the most isolated internet enviorment in the world. The Japanese-language internet is the largest echo chamber in existence. No one outside Japan could read Japanese — and most Japanese couldn't read any other language. They were like animals in Australia, disconnected from the rest of the world, gradually evolving all sorts of strange shape. Japanese post wildly outrageous comments without restraint, developing all kinds of extreme and distorted theories. Then Musk introduced automatic translation — and the mask fell off. To everyone's shock, the vast majority of Japanese netizens turned out to be right‑wing extremists, each more radical than the last. They fight with everyone around the world, flinging insults and attacks, lying through their teeth, refusing to acknowledge their own historical crimes, and casually calling for the "elimination" of anyone who disagrees with them. That's when people finally understood: the Chinese and the Koreans were right all along.
