Some Holy Week reflections that stood out to me from Matthew 26 and John 12: 1. Proximity to Christ doesn’t make someone a true follower. Judas was one of the Twelve. He walked with Jesus, heard every teaching, saw every miracle, and even carried the moneybag. But Jesus didn’t fit who Judas wanted Him to be: a political revolutionary or liberator from the Romans. To Judas, Jesus was nothing more than a teacher (“Rabbi”), not his Lord and he sold Him for the price of a slave (Matthew 26:25; John 12:6). 2. Mary poured out a year’s wages in pure nard/perfume on Jesus to anoint Him; an extravagant, irreversible act of worship worth about a full year’s income for a laborer. Once the alabaster flask was broken, the entire costly contents had to be used right then; it couldn’t be resealed or saved for later. There was no taking some and holding back the rest. It was all or nothing. True worship always has a cost. She held nothing back because she saw who Jesus really was and what He was about to do for us on the cross (John 12:3, 7–8). 3. Contrast: Mary gave virtually everything in worship, pouring out a fortune for Jesus with no thought of return or personal gain. Judas, on the other hand, accepted the slave’s price (thirty pieces of silver) for selling Him out (Matthew 26:15; John 12:4–6). Thirty pieces was the exact legal compensation under Old Testament law if an ox gored and killed a slave: (Exodus 21:32) the lowest, minimum value placed on a human life. This Easter, make sure we are truly worshiping Him as Lord, not just treating Him like a “good teacher.” The world already does that.

If Protestants want Catholics to take them seriously, they need to acknowledge: - Catholics love and worship Jesus as Lord and Savior - Catholics revere Scripture as the inerrant word of God - Catholics believe salvation is impossible apart from the grace of God - Catholics do not think they can earn heaven apart from Christ - Catholics do not see the Pope, Mary, or priests as a replacement for Jesus Deal?

@BOSSportsGordo Depends on the space. If there’s a median with a sidewalk, it’s easier to get the stroller out safely, load groceries, etc. But if it abuts another space, I’m pulling in head first… again, to access the trunk/tailgate.

@togootto I thought this was being asked from America—> Japan, not the other way around because the experience you described is exactly what happens here (in America).

My brother, none of us are “worthy.” God’s grace, found in the death and resurrection of Jesus, is unmerited favor. Also, your post calls to mind a story about Martin Luther that I’m going to c/p below. Hopefully you are encouraged by it. ——————————————— One night, Martin Luther awoke to find the devil standing at the foot of his bed, holding a long scroll. With malicious delight, the devil began reading aloud an exhaustive list of every sin and shortcoming Luther had ever committed: his pride, anger, doubts, failures, and countless other transgressions. Each accusation was accurate, and the weight of them pressed heavily upon Luther, filling him with torment and the dread of damnation. As the devil continued reading, Luther felt his soul slipping toward despair. Then, in a moment of providential clarity, he commanded the devil, “Unroll the scroll all the way down.” The devil hesitated and tried to avoid the command, obfuscating and refusing at first. Luther pressed him firmly, declaring in the name of Jesus that he must unroll it fully. Reluctantly, the devil complied. When the scroll was completely unrolled, there at the very bottom, written in crimson letters, were the words: “This entire account of Martin Luther has been paid in full by the blood of Jesus Christ.” The accusations were silenced. The devil had nothing more to say. The torment ended, and Luther stood in the freedom of Christ’s finished work. —————————————— Grace and peace my friend.

This Easter, I invite you to look at Jesus, consider what he said and did, and ask for yourself what I believe is the most important question you will ever answer: Did he really leave behind an empty tomb? And if he did, what does that mean for you? This video was made possible and in collaboration with my friends at @ChildlikeMedia.

@JWhitebread1 @benshapiro Morning Wire did a small hit piece on the church before. Can't remember exactly when but it was some smear story about the Church leadership cozying up the the CCP. So ignorant. Daily Wire's been hiring Baptist and Evangelical extremists for a while now.

Hey @benshapiro a question. If I said that the Talmud was "demonic" and that I wished I could burn every Talmud in the world, I imagine that would not be regarded as fair criticism of the Jewish faith in your opinion and would be regarded as bigoted, correct? So why is it okay for Matt Fradd to say that about the Book of Mormon? If I shared anti-Semitic materials, by known anti-Semites that deliberately mischaracterized and slandered the Jewish faith on a podcast and represented those views as accurate, that would be wrong, right? Well, your boy Matt Fradd just did that on his podcast, sharing a widely discredited cartoon from the anti-Mormon movie, The Godmakers, that claims to accurately represent LDS theology. You have a real problem at the DW. What are you going to do about it?

This is all going to end with Mark Levin and Megyn Kelly falling in love. Like any great love story, they hate each other at the start and then eventually realize what they needed most of all was each other. This is going to be better than The Notebook.

I have been silent about this for a long time, but I can no longer keep quiet about it in good conscience. The "Strait" of Hormuz isn't straight at all. It's super crooked. You can see in the helpful graphic I put together below. The elites don't want you to know this.

Here, I’m responding respectfully to the question, “why are people mad that Colbert (a LotR super fan and devout Catholic) is writing the new LotR movie script?” The comments are interesting to say the least. They reveal that the left seems to think that the writings of Tolkien were centered on compassion, a trait utterly foreign to the right apparently, and empathy, and not things like duty, sacrifice, objective right and wrong, and other Christian and Western coded values. Also, note the tough guys.

I've ardently defended Erika Kirk from the ostensibly serious podcasters & media stars defaming her and baselessly implicating her in crimes. But my feelings about the comedian Druski's mockery of Erika Kirk are more complex. For years, I, and many others on the Right, defended edgy and wildly offensive comedy, like mocking trans people and even joking about horrible things like domestic violence, the Holocaust, and AIDS. How can anyone on the Right really argue, in that context, that a comedian mocking a widow is somehow beyond the pale... without being totally hypocritical?
