Very good point here... they took a big risk. It is sad to me how many great games I've played just get no traction and are retail failures. I try to make a point on here of plugging indies I like - I know at least with Boundless, I was able to convince a few people to buy.

Something people need to keep in mind is that for every 1 big success with indie games, Expedition 33, Silksong etc. there are hundreds and hundreds of indie games that crash and burn, with devs paying a huge price for it, e.g losing marriages, going into huge amounts of debt etc. The indie world of making games isn't all roses. It comes with huge risks just like AAA development, it's just that you mostly hear the success stories, most of the failures aren't publicized.

@NMScafe agreed, long term we are working on a plan to to have stuff self publish from a database submission using simple webforms to a nice web page (think portal repository or similar, but more info)

@CelabGalactic Truly you guys are brilliant! We do have our own wiki elsewhere (wikiful) but it's been stagnant forever simply because it's easier to edit /add to wikis on PC- which I haven't had for almost 4 1/2 years. Keeping to format specs on fandom also while on old ipad is nigh impossible

Amino Hub and Cafe42 will be restructured to accommodate losing access to our foundational base @ Amino. Because it went ghost, we have a major hit as a result.
AH lost 89% access to census overnight.
Cafe lost 1/3 access to member census.
All files, media, wikis etc are lost.

@NMScafe The fear of the wikis vanishing is also a key reason we built our own data storage, and will continue to invest in it to be able to scale and reduce reliance on a wiki as our data keeps growing.

@NMScafe The fundamental risk of relying on third party sites is a key reason we decided to build a website, we can't trust a wiki site to be there since miraheze is donation funded and fandom, is, well fandom. If discord shuts, we still have our own voice to tell where to regroup.
