I'm pretty sure if Starlight and Trixie ever entered a serious relationship they'd kill each other in a month. They seem like people that get along well, so long as they don't have to sleep under the same roof all the time.

You go through all the trouble to design and make something that lasts and you're rewarded by the customer never buying another one.

Talk to enough baristas and you'll hear stories of coffee machines that are decades old, passed from shop to shop still working perfect. This gear cutter will hit 80 years in service soon.
This level of reliability is what must be aimed for.

This girl is cruising down the highway in her stick shift, windows down, wind in her hair, belting out songs while she shifts gears without missing a beat. She looks genuinely happy and in control. Most people these days never learn how to drive manual. It takes real timing and coordination to get the clutch and gas right, especially when you’re just trying to have fun and sing along. Seeing her do it so naturally makes you realize how much of that skill is disappearing. Do you think driving stick is becoming a lost art, or do you still think it’s worth teaching people even if almost every new car is automatic?

But caution on taking strong sides. Something like 'a shadow cabal controlling society for profit is bad' is fairly safe and universal, but if the political message is just 'conservatism bad' then you alienate half your potential audience.

@C130TheHerc Historically speaking many obsolete aircraft remained in use simply because they could take off and land in the absolute worst places. It's not always a relevant feature, but when it matters it overrides everything else.

@C130TheHerc To be quite frank the downside of having bigger and bigger planes is that you end up with fewer and fewer suitable airfields.
I understand the C-130 has remained relevant mostly for its ability to take off and land from very bad sites.
