@0xKiruse yes totally understand. my first job was working with plants and I did a lot of heavy lifting/hauling of goods. did a lot of music during this time. nowadays i'm doing retail fast food, so systems design has been very intriguing as of late

@0xKiruse that's sort of what i'm getting at. brainless = not cognitively taxing. oftentimes these are physical; pick heavy things up and read a customer service script. it's much harder to do side projects when working a job that demands a lot of thinking

Hi, with respect to general psychosis (so regardless of LLM-induced or not), reason does not work. In my experience those affected with psychosis have been dealt with by force to some degree (such as medical intervention of antipsychotics), then helping the affected individual with being aware of triggers leading to psychosis, and mapping boundaries which prevent them from crossing over again. Psychosis is like a containerized reality, in that state everything makes sense to the person, per se, according to a fundamentally incorrect logical framework, and sometimes trying to unwind or deconstruct it just reinforces it (because to them the false reality is true, it is purely experiential). My best advice is to ensure that the affected individual has a support network (friends or family) and to provide them with a normal structure that can re-ground them (as sometimes psychosis can lead to self neglect or irregular behaviors — ie just make sure they get up and shower, spend time with friends) — and then do not reinforce the psychotic reality

Are there any online/international resources to direct people to who are dealing with psychosis, especially LLM-fueled? Our support teams have always lists of self-harm ones, gambling ones, etc. For people who come in and need more help than we can give them. Last few months the schizo-esque delusions, often around finding some insane crit double 0day, have been really bad. Standard crisis lines arent really what they need. Especially as they don’t self-identify as depressed or in crisis whatsoever. But we are not what they need either. 😩
