@RosbifsRugby Ah that’s terrible! Mine has just arrived at my local Adidas to pick up but I did order as soon as I saw it…

Imagine having one of these ordered, only to find out 5 days later your order isn't being fulfilled... Sheer devastation.

@WestMidRailway Are you guys going to hold the 20:13 to Euston at a Crewe for all of us who couldn’t get on a train at Liverpool Lime Street?

@deepamusafir1 @ignatiusliew @Schoolofsurg @orji_ck I also think in some of the subspecialties it’s very hard to accumulate the volume of cases needed during training to start as a consultant - I’m thinking with my paeds hat on, where there’s lots of operations we don’t do very often!

@ignatiusliew @Schoolofsurg @orji_ck There isn't an easy solution as currently we need day one orthopaedic surgeons to be "on call ready" to deal with all emergencies that come through the door, but to be subspecialists in their everyday practice.

You’ll read the curriculum and think this is obvious. The status quo is that training is completed during fellowship and one without fellowship is incompletely baked. Fellowship seems to be a requirement for employment but the last 2 years of training are ‘designed for that’
Jon Lund@Schoolofsurg

@SurgeryHPB @rcpsglasgow @JohnCam_Brennan @asgbi Interesting. Surely better to train people for their role when they’re trainees, though? Currently no facility to train consultant colleagues and creates all sorts of imbalances. Fellowships should be discouraged on the whole. Discriminatory and have a life time impact on income

@ChBen87 @KITH I’m not sure what the shipping costs are like with UK Kith but you’d save that buying at the opening, and as long as you’re there early enough I’m sure you’ll get what you like.

@ChBen87 Of course! Just create your UK account with the same email address.

When the UK site goes live, you'll want to create an account there with the same email that you currently use. On Friday, there will be a new region in-app (in addition to Worldwide, EU, CA). Switch to the UK region and you're all set.
Damian Pang@DamianP87

@AndyOliverWpg What about from an app POV? Would those of us in the UK need to do anything since we currently log in via eu.

@ShaunLintern My on-call this weekend was fuelled by oatcakes! The really good shops open at 5 in the morning

Am having to visit my parents in Stoke a lot more regularly at the moment thanks to the horror of #MND but one silver lining is a decent supply of fresh Staffordshire oatcakes in London. #ifyouknowyouknow

@traumaticum @Gnomelover1970 I worked for someone who would cut the end off a TENS nail to make it sharper before a Metaizeau. Never been brave enough to try it myself

@Gnomelover1970 synthes TENS have a flat 'blade' tip which can engage the trabecular bone just distal to the physis. you do get 'bite'. its a bit tenuous, but the beauty of peads stuff is that it doesnt need to hold for long before the bone gets sticky 1/2

Rabbit hole 🐰 🕳️ Things stick in your head. During GEN, paediatric radial head webinar. Suggested k wire instead of Metaizeau better to control paediatric radial head. I’m not even sure once reduced if it even needs fixation. If I’m gonna fix it, I want to move it. 🧵 1/5
