The irony of this picture is it reflects the local DSA arrogance toward real experience. Anthony, a appointed alder, with little real world business experience, talks back to a man with years of restaurant experience. When your wondering what's wrong with Chicago..consider this dynamic. 👇👇👇👇 blockclubchicago.org/2026/03/18/cit…

I have. Remember when I tried to speak with you and Sigcho about the demolition ordinance in Pilsen? Instead, you provided numbers to the council and to reporters that were misleading and lacked context. I’ve offered to have you meet with property owners who have lost equity in their home because of these ordinances. That offer still stands. For the record, I don’t think you’re a bad person or have any malicious intentions but I feel that your top-down approach often blinds you from the reality of what people on the ground face. More importantly, it seems (my opinion) that you aren’t willing to engage with those that disagree with you and present an alternative. I’m always happy to have an adult conversation with anyone willing to listen and my door is always open. Just let me know when you want to talk.

I wish @MaryAnnAhernNBC would do the same reporting on @sigchofor25. Sigcho grew up well off but claims to be poor. So many socialist do the same: Cosplaying poverty for their political gain.
Midwest Millennial@MillennialVerse

Interesting—even @MaryAnnAhernNBC noticed the grift coming from the fraud Democrat candidate @KatAbughazaleh. Hard to know the struggle when you don't come from the struggle—especially when you come from multi-million dollars of family wealth. A rich white liberal cosplaying. 🤡🌎

@mattitude313 @chi_urbanist I agree, I wish builders built more aesthetically pleasing facades. However, we need MORE homes and density is the only solution. There is no world where restricting the housing supply will somehow reduce housing costs/access.

@Chacon312 @chi_urbanist I would be one hundred percent in favor of scrapping the zoning codes that prohibit that, if real estate developers would ever be interested in building things this aesthetic again rather than building the cheapest shit possible to maximize profits.

Indiana is the equivalent of an old guy thinking he’s going to take the stripper home because he threw his entire pay check at her - it’s never going to happen. The Bears are just using Indiana as leverage to get tax credits from Illinois.

After listening to Attorney General Bondi’s testimony before congress yesterday, I feel like history is repeating itself. Only this time, it’s President Trump with his knee on America’s neck. While Bondi’s smirks, yawns and dismissive behavior during the hearing were all her own, it was her demeanor that felt representative of the Trump administration. Her defiance and hostility came from a place of incredible privilege - a belief that she could act with complete impunity because she knew Trump and his entire Administration would defend her, regardless of what she said or did. In other words, “there isn’t a damn thing anyone could do about it.” Members of Congress challenged her, pointed out facts and berated her, but it often felt like they were getting nowhere—reinforcing a sense of powerlessness. As with George Floyd’s murder, feelings of despair and hopelessness can become catalysts for collective action. I hope Americans are paying attention.
