So here’s the deal. This should be a good pure snowfall for most of us. Are there fail modes? Yeah, I see dry air as being a concern - but the odds still favor a good snow for most. General 3 to 6 is a good range for most of our area in my opinion. Road problems, uh huh. Power, nah. Snowballs/snowmen? Not Saturday - too fluffy. Try Sunday when the sun is out. Sledding? Yeah. Good.

More winter weather is on the way for Saturday. Several inches of snow for the Triad area are looking more likely. TIMING: - Starts: 10pm Friday - 2am Saturday - Ends: 10pm Saturday - 2am Sunday - Essentially an all-day Saturday event IMPACTS: - Several inches of dry, fluffy snow - Road problems return and snowy travel - Not expecting power outages - Lingering road issues into early next week HOW MUCH? - I'm not ready to draw snow maps yet, but will on Thursday - In the Triad area, I'd be preparing for several inches of fluffy snow - This is a storm that will impact Raleigh, Charlotte, and even the Coastal Carolinas as well TO DOS: - Pay attention to the forecast - Reconsider Saturday plans, potentially Sunday too depending on road conditions - No need to panic buy, but have stuff to get you through the weekend
