Congrats to all the impressive local businesses whose efforts were recognised at the ACT Export Awards. Special mention to @GymAware being named ACT Exporter of the Year. Rugby teams I played for used their tech in the gym. canberraweekly.com.au/gymaware-is-ac…

Thrilled for this to finally be published and collaborate with @IRawlleySingh on defining and aligning support to a coaches model of performance & not simply a generic approach to performance (the act of rather than level of). Lays a framework to apply to most contexts
Ishan Rawlley-Singh@IRawlleySingh

We share our approach to transitioning from a general to a specific needs analysis involving multiple sources for gaining insight to deconstruct performance and develop an S&C technical framework @Alexpwolf This approach was used in the build up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics 2/2

Advice for you to take or leave: 1. Measure everything you can, 2. Never stop learning, 3. Surround yourself with smart people, 4. Use science and data to make decisions when possible, 5. Develop trust with your athletes.

@S_CAcademy Tricky concept… working on needs analysis might put too much focus on weaknesses which can make application frustrating. Include a strength so there is some victory in training too.

These are some flaws of traditional Needs Analysis. Do you agree? What other flaws have you experienced?

Love your own spreadsheets? Need to send data to a coach? Export your FLEX data any time. This is especially beneficial when creating load velocity profiles or custom reports. It's completely free as well. Have you tried it out? How are you using your FLEX data?

@S_CAcademy The outcome sought is faster 2K time, not Fmax. If Fmax assists then its variation in common, not causal. Rowing itself increases Fmax, just not as fast as ST. Rowing might get other adaptations needed like upper-body. Cycling intervals, running stairs can increase Fmax, slowly.

@Chad_Bling If intended outcome is increase knee extensor Fmax, then the question is what is most effective exercise to achieve this? Would rowing itself be the best exercise to increase Fmax? If CSA is primary cellular adaptation, again would rowing be he most effective task to achieve it?
