The problem with Iron Lung is that it wasn't made for the general audience. It was clearly made with a certain audience in mind.
The general audience will get bored with the movie because if they're not frequently stimulated, they'll sleep through it like Isaac did.

Real talk. The problem holding this movie back (and storytelling in general) is the writers going, “And this happens and then this happens and then THIS happens!” The movie lacks cause and effect. It’s a bunch of weird things happening without a solid idea tying them together.
