@TasteGeorgia Hiring someone based on skin color, gender or sexual preference rather than ability is just as bad as the reverse. @JancisRobinson does have POC on her staff. @hawk_wakawaka is the only Native American wine writer I know, and she got hired based on the fact that she’s a badass!

@wineecon If you have to get down to $2k - that is nowhere near “overwhelming” support. Perhaps politics is not, and should not be your thing.

@MonikaElling @wineecon The wine Industry is completely intolerant to conservatives. In fact, most people in the wine industry are not just intolerant, they are actively biased against anything but flaming liberalism.

For more than a decade people have been asking me “when are you going to quit your day job and focus on your passion for wine writing?” I finally have an answer to that question: TODAY. vinography.com/archives/2020/…

Just spoke with Jacques Pépin for a story. He's calm, healthy and cooking oysters and clams for dinner. He and his wife of 54 years will split a bottle of wine, like they do every night. This was the most comforting conversation I've had all day.

Well, @robertjoseph, if you read the private e-mail thread that she just published unredacted, you will note that I DID apologize. I had no intention of offending her. Am I owed an apology for her publishing our private correspondence?

@mme_hammond Spamming is annoying, so I can understand someone reacting to what they think of as a newsletter they dont recognise But accusations of lawbreaking + condescending attitude when evidence is provided against those accusations are not acceptable Yarrow should apologise + move on

Judgmentalism really sucks. Can we all stop rushing to judge others, and judging them so harshly? Try thinking the best of others, until you absolutely can’t any longer. Life is better that way
