@Streplic Been saying this for the longest time. Shidou is Blue Lock’s #1 ideal player. He’s been overshadowed by Rin and hasn’t gotten to really shine in the story outside of the U20 match, but look what happened as soon as Shidou started against BM.

Isagi vs Kaiser is the endgame of Blue Lock. Kaiser is probably near the bottom of the NG11 right now, considering how much he struggled and evolved just to keep up with Isagi in the NEL. But to Isagi, Kaiser is still the ideal striker. Isagi already admitted he can’t become the world’s best through pure talent alone, his path is devouring whoever stands at the top. That’s why I believe Kaiser will become the world’s best striker, and Isagi’s final challenge will be surpassing and devouring him.

I hope it continues. It would make Nagi’s comeback very short term and almost pointless if not, along with the club offers, seeing official senior teams like Bunny on FC Barcha, Rin on Re Al. I think we all expect Japan to lose the World Cup and likely a team like Germany or France winning, but if Blue Lock did win (which would be less rewarding) Isagi still has to prove himself on a professional level. Even just Hugo’s whole “Become #2” ideology is interesting. What about Sae and Rin? Isagi and Kaiser team up again? There’s still so much left. I hope if this manga ends, it’s to set up “Blue Lock: World Cup” as a sequel.

I honestly don't see any world where Blue Lock continues after the U-20 World Cup despite Nomura’s statement - Most of the New Gen 11 will have been revealed by then - Character arcs and major plotlines (Rin/Sae, Nagi, Isagi) will have reached their absolute peak - If Ego gets fired because Japan loses, what is Blue Lock without Ego? And if Japan actually wins where do you even go from there? Anyway IMO this is the final arc and I think a lot of you are going to be disappointed

It’s so fascinating how much Hugo resembles Sae. From not just looks, but his whole ideal for the story. Sae pushed Rin by telling him to “quit” knowing Rin would push harder to surpass him. I wonder if the same thing will happen to Isagi. It could be a moment that finally allows him to awaken Predator Eye, or push his MV to another level.
