The backstory of Pune hacker who pirated movies: The hacker from Pune who was recently arrested for movie piracy had reportedly accessed an HD copy of #Pushpa2 nearly a week before its release. Though he managed to hack and obtain movies before their release, he would transfer the content and share decryption keys with piracy sites only after the official release. He was aware that leaking films beforehand would trigger a far more intense investigation to track down the culprit. Initially, he began hacking servers just for the thrill of watching films ahead of release - without any intent to distribute them. However, after coming across a social media post offering payment for HD prints, he started selling pirated copies for around $800 per film. Among the movies he illegally obtained, #Hit3 was said to be his personal favorite. Over time, he is believed to have earned around $100,000 through these activities. The accused had studied only up to 10th grade. Reportedly, frequent ridicule from classmates about his looks (squinted eyes) led him to drop out of school. He had a point to prove to his classmates. He later taught himself hacking through online tutorials - eventually becoming skilled enough to breach servers and leak movies.
