Rubio is completely twisting the facts. The EU fine has nothing to do with “censoring Americans” or going after U.S. citizens. The penalty was issued because X broke basic transparency and consumer-protection rules: selling misleading blue checkmarks, hiding required advertising data, and blocking researcher access. This is about a platform refusing to follow the same laws that Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, and every other major service must comply with in Europe. Turning a regulatory violation into an attack on “American people” is pure political shitshow, not reality.
