It's official! Shortly, I will be starting a group at the Broad Institute, developing and applying scalable computational methods to the largest human genomic datasets in the world, in an effort to interpret genetic variation and understand the architecture of the genome

Due to the rapid escalation of the #COVID19 pandemic, the AACR has decided not to move forward with an in-person #AACR20 meeting. Segments of the Annual Meeting program will be made available in two Virtual Annual Meetings, April 27-28 and June 22-24. bit.ly/3aZljuI

When I was thinking of cancel my registration, it is good to hear that they planes to cancel the meeting and maybe reschedule it.

From the recent MS and PhD applicants at Harvard, the biggest difference between MS and PhD (or what really distinguishes an applicant) is not GPA or test scores, but research experiences (i.e. letters from professors who supervised research).

@CFlensburg There are many colleagues like you :) I switched from mathematics field to computational biology for 10+ years ... and my primary PhD advisor switched from theoretical physics to bioinformatics too...

It's been around 7 years since I switched from physics to bioinformatics. Today is the day when my code has the "nonSex" boolean renamed to "autosomal". I'm very slow, but I am picking up biology lingo! Who knows what my code will look like in another 7 years??
