BREAKING: Unfortunately, I have bad news again. My sources now indicate that the chances of the pilot of the U.S. Air Force F-15E of the 494th Fighter Squadron—shot down in Iran yesterday—being alive are near zero. It appears he did not manage to eject and was likely still inside the aircraft at the moment of impact. The backseater, the Weapons Systems Operator, did eject but was seriously wounded, likely due to the low altitude of the ejection. @ShivAroor @TheAviationist @cencio4 Combat losses are part of warfare. 21 USAF pilots were taken PoW during Op 'Desert Storm' in 1991 and it's considered as one of the best executed military ops. It will take Iran's military decades to recover from the destruction the US & Israel have unleashed

BREAKING: One of the two crew members of the downed U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle of the 494th Fighter Squadron has been successfully rescued by combat search and rescue teams operating over Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province in Iran. Unfortunately, the pilot of the aircraft appears to have lost his life, as he likely had no time to eject. The status of the crew has been unclear, with ongoing rescue operations confirming that at least one aircrew member survived the incident. The Weapons Systems Operator of the F-15E was rescued and recovered by one of the HH-60W helicopters.
