It was appropriate that my term ended with an oversight visit from the parliamentary committees (SCOF and SCOA) today. We could account for the achievements of 7 years, and give taste of Modernisation 3.0. Now, as the baton changes hands, I wish Dr Makhubu much success to lead this incredible institution @sarstax

Who were the 20 000 women? Our call to write her into history is gaining momentum. The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has received seven names of women who participated in the 1956 Women’s March, shared by family members who recognise the importance of recording their contributions. For decades, they have been remembered as part of a number. Now, they are being named: Sekeleni Jane Maphutha; Ama Naidoo; Ramnie Dinat; Thailama Pillay; Sinda Pillay; Zaibunnisa Bhyat; and Mary Benson. Each name is a step towards building a Roll Call of Honour, making sure that the women who shaped this defining moment are recognised individually and by name. This is only the beginning. Add a name.
