On Tuesday, March 18, shortly before 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of S. Sharon Amity Road in the Providence Division.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect and the suspect vehicle. Wisconsin Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard confirmed that a man was arrested after distributing an offensive internet meme depicting him with a Jewish star on his forehead, calling it antisemitic. The sheriff said the man was “trying to threaten and intimidate” him by posting the meme. He said the First Amendment makes people “feel empowered, emboldened, and safe,” so he had to teach the public a lesson.
