Wondering if CSGO was released as a standalone due to some royalties issue with the original developers Hidden Path. If that is the case, could be why the game is not the most recent version of the game but a version last worked on with the original developers.

@xHeros5k Why don’t they just treat it as they treated older cs titles? Like fix the community servers browsing and add a way to swap between vanilla weapons that’s it

So on the beta branch you could have changed the ClientVersion and ServerVersion to, for example, "2000526" in the steam.inf file located in the \csgo\ folder to restore Inventory and Server Browser functionality but that does not work on the standalone CS:GO legacy version. You pretty much would have the most normal and cleanest CS:GO behavior except for any Official Servers. And I really don't know what the future of both versions are going to look like.
