First sober birthday in 20 years Day 211 , turning 36 tomorrow sober and full of anxiety. One year ago I would’ve never thought this was possible. I’ve never been big on birthdays from a young age. Always seemed to be a burden and as I got older it just became a day to get fucked up. Getting absolutely shitfaced , prob doing cocaine and not remembering anything, prob pissed someone off , or crying because I was a wreck. This year I gave myself the greatest gift and that’s a clear mind. It’s still a journey, but the clarity of sobriety today almost brought me to tears. Tonight I’m taking the family to opening night at the Super Bowl to see some of our favorite 49ers players. Im looking forward to it. I’d lie if I said I wasn’t somewhat sad , my circle has shrunk and its understandable. I always hung with friends during birthdays. This year I will love myself and do not need to seek love. I have my family who loves me and that’s all I need , all I ever need. Im excited for this new chapter at 36. “You can have anything you want if you want it desperately enough.
