I’ll share here as well actionable steps we are taking as a city so the public can know. Email below - ——- The City received an Inquiry re: ICE Raids so I wanted to follow up to ensure you have all the same information we have provided to the Community.   As you already know, The City of Jersey City is a Sanctuary City so there are safeguards for our residents. In addition, The City of Jersey City remains the only city in NJ that has been accredited by the Department of Justice to support Immigrants with a legal pathway to citizenship. Our admin started this program + have served over 1000 residents.   Furthermore, we were recently named a grantee of NJ Dept of Human Services’ Office of New Americans(ONA). As we navigate uncertain times for our immigrant and refugee communities, ONA remains dedicated to working with the City of Jersey City to protect New American communities, through our programs.  We have been a leader on this and will continue.   Our team will be making visits across all the SIDS (Special Business Districts) throughout the next week to ensure business owners have this information and know their rights.   Attached are some tools to prepare your staff if ICE attempts to enter a public school building .   In addition, we will be sending out social media post to ask for eye-witness reporting on any activity and phone number to share activity. We will log the activities and report them to JCPD for further investigation.   ONA has created the following resources attached and below for immigrants, refugees, and organizations who serve them. •         ONA Programs Flyer – This is available in other languages upon request. •         ONA Know Your Rights – For community and Organizations/Businesses, more languages to come. nj.gov/humanservices/…
