You think your car has it bad? The entire Atlantic Ocean is covered in pollen! Our friends at @CMAquarium captured these incredible shots of a massive 'pollen plume' off the coast of Hilton Head. Don't worry, pollen in the ocean is not considered harmful to the aquatic ecosystem

Heading out to the beach today? ⛱️ Use extra caution given the Moderate to High rip current risk from Florida to Maine today (October 2). Try to find a beach with lifeguards - and when in doubt, don't go out! weather.gov/safety

36 years ago today, Hurricane Hugo struck Charleston as a Cat-4 with 140 mph winds & a 15-ft surge. The storm devastated the coast, toppled the Ben Sawyer Bridge, & sent hurricane-force gusts into the NC mountains. A lasting reminder of nature’s power & the need for resilience.
