@Dezman2018 @ChrisLukeJones It’s great for the neutral but not for the clubs in it. Football clubs lose so much money, even those in the national league. Playing a near perfect season and still having a good chance of staying down hurts the clubs down there.

@ChrisLukeJones The National League title race having so much on the line because of the single automatic spot is a feature not a bug. If the NL had any sense they’d market the hell out of these gripping titles races which would otherwise mean very little if two teams went up automatically.

@ChrisLukeJones But it isn’t. Nearly every team in it is professional and follow professional training schedules. They aren’t saying it is classed as a pro league they’re saying it basically is a pro league so should be treated as such

This is the 3rd season in the last 5 where 1st and 2nd have got more that 95 points. They don’t deserve to battle it out in the playoffs.

The reason was so they didn’t have to share the money with the rest of the 4 leagues and it was to be shared amongst themselves in the premier league. More money better players for the bigger teams.
